Weekly update: October 19-25

This week has been really exciting! I’ve preparing for Halloween, planning for an event next week, testing cheeses, and doing a few custom orders as well.

I guess I should start from the beginning. Last week’s Thursday deliveries weren’t big. I only had one couple that I delivered to, but it was still worth it. On Friday I received a package in the mail from Violife, a vegan cheese company. Saturday I had a dessert delivery which was fun to make, since I don’t get many orders for larger items. Monday I had an order for cupcakes that I delivered  and I just got another order from a friend who wants to ship cupcakes to her daughters in Massachusetts. Needless to say this week has been full of activity! I’ve had something almost everyday and that is a really good place to be.

By far the highlight of my week was the Violife cheese package! They wanted to send me some samples and I had kind of kept it on the down low so I didn’t get too excited and end up disappointed. I have to say I wasn’t at all disappointed, the samples actually exceeded my highest expectations! When they reached out, I was shocked that they chose me to sample their products and wanted me to be their ambassador for WY! Within a matter of hours I tried their cheese, messaged with them, and decided to accept the position. I had no idea what it meant to be an ambassador, but it sounded important so I liked the idea of it. Basically all I’m doing is being a voice for them and trying to talk to local markets so they can start selling Violife. Right now there aren’t any stores that sell Violife here in WY so I am hoping to be able to change that.

I’ve definitely been on a seasonal kick lately. I’ve been recipe testing for Halloween for weeks now and I finally came up with three Halloween themed desserts, so I’m just hoping people will order them for their parties! I’m really happy with what I have come up with, so hopefully I get to share them with others. Last week, I also got to make a gluten free pumpkin cheesecake. Thats another one of those seasonal desserts that I really enjoyed making.

As I continue to grow Vegan in Wyoming, I realize that no matter how tired I am, I always enjoy what I do. There is never a cupcake I dread making or a delivery I don’t want to make. I have never really had that in a job before. I am so used to getting burnt out after a few weeks or months. Even though I may be constantly exhausted, I get to do something I am passionate about and get to see my vision come true each and every day. I may not want to put forth the effort somedays, but once I get into the kitchen, everything changes.

There isn’t much else to say about the last week. I’m just excited for what is coming up next week, and I’m really looking forward to working more with Violife!
