This week has been crazy busy in the best way possible! I have had a lot of projects on the side, and I have been preparing for an event on November 2nd. I didn’t have many meal orders last Thursday, but I was alright with that. I had been so busy that it would have been a lot more difficult for me to put out a product I was proud of. Monday was Halloween, and I made some treats I had been testing for the last month. It was fun to be able to share them with others and fill some orders at the same time! That was the bulk of my week, but today was very eventful and exciting! I had my usual Wednesday dinner pick up from a couple that I cook for, and I got to do a really fun order for a friend.
Earlier last week, she had sent me a message and wanted to give her daughter birthday cupcakes. The only catch was that her daughter was going to be in Massachusetts. I had never shipped any of my desserts before, but from learning through research, I was pretty confident about being able to fulfill her requests. She wanted three dozen cupcakes, six flavors of cupcakes and six flavors of frosting. It was a bit of work, but a lot of fun for me to create! I packaged the frosting in zip top bags and wrapped each flavor of cupcake separately so her daughter and friends could mix and match flavors which I thought was a great idea. As of right now (November 1), they are in transit, so fingers crossed!
I have been running around like crazy all day between that order and trying to prepare for an event I have tomorrow. I am selling desserts at a Day of the Dead event at the Nicolaysen Art Museum, a local art museum. This is going to be one of the biggest events I do so far. It has been in the local newspaper and on social media. It is the first time I am the only dessert vendor, and it is the first time I have personally been mentioned in the description of the event. I am really nervous for those reasons, but I’m really excited because I’m hoping to do a lot more events like this in the future. I am making all Mexican themed desserts and it’ll be a lot of work, but definitely worth every minute of it!
On a less exciting note, I was really unsure about things at the beginning of the week. I was questioning what I was doing and not sure if all of the effort I am putting into Vegan in Wyoming will be worth it in the end. I was freaking out about having too much to do, but somehow I am getting things done and the week is almost through. After tonight, I just feel gratitude for everything I have been doing and for all of the support I have had from people over the past few months. I feel like I have accomplished so much in such a short time! At the end of every day, it all just amazes me! I already can’t wait for my update next week to share how the event goes!
