This week has been busy! It has been very good though. I’m hoping to get to the point where every week is like this week. I know it will take some time, but when I get glimpses of what being busy is like, it just gets me excited! For me, being busy is doing more than five meals, and having at least three dessert orders. Getting to provide that many meals and desserts for people just reminds me why I am doing this. It inspires me to do more each time I get the opportunity to.
Last Thursday, I had a few dinner orders. I also got a few cookie orders in. Preparing those orders and delivering them kept me busy for that day, which was nice. I didn’t have much going on at the beginning of the week. I was actually very glad about that because I desperately needed a couple days of rest after working the weekend at my other job.
At the beginning of the week, I spent a good day and a half preparing myself for all of the shopping I needed to do for dinners and dessert orders at the end of the week. First of all, I really don’t like shopping because I feel like it always takes forever. Second, going to multiple stores gets exhausting, but one store never has everything I need. Third, the lines this time of year are ridiculous. Lastly, there isn’t anything in the world that frustrates me more than going to a store specifically for something to find out that they are sold out of exactly what I need. Thus, I need to prepare myself before I go grocery shopping!
On another note, I am living in dessert prep world as I write this. I have peppermint meringue trees in the oven, I just finished butternut squash pie filling, and have hazelnut coffee cashew cheesecake in the freezer. I also think I created a perfect meringue! I suppose I will find out after a day or so when I see the texture and consistency of it. Stay tuned!
Tomorrow will be another busy day full of baking, cooking, and deliveries! I am really looking forward to it. I can’t wait to share how everything goes next week.
