I don’t review condiments very often, but when I do, it is something that I am very excited about! I have wanted to try this maple syrup all winter, but just got around to it last weekend. Grant Street Grocery here in Casper carries the Bushwick Kitchen products and when I saw the Gingerbread Maple, I knew I had to try it. I love maple syrup as is. I use it sweeten anything and everything. When I found out that Bushwick Kitchen had combined my favorite holiday cookie and maple, I knew it was going to be a winner! Bushwick kitchen isn’t an all vegan company, most of their products are. Some of their other vegan friendly condiments include Coffee Maple and Gochujang Sriracha! I can’t wait to try them!
For starters, the appearance is really nice. It is probably the most attractive bottle of maple syrup I have ever seen in my entire life. It is so clean and simple. Plus, anything that is matte black and white without frills wins my heart, hands down! Everything is very straightforward. The bottle states where the product is made, where the maple syrup is from, and the ingredients are simple.
To test the flavor of the syrup, I knew I wanted to make pancakes. I had to make them so that they complimented the flavor of the gingerbread, though. I ended up making a ginger, apple, raisin pancake with a molasses butter and smothered them in a healthy portion of the Gingerbread Syrup. From the first waft of the spices in the syrup I knew this stuff was going to be delicious. It smelled like a bottle of liquified gingerbread cookies. I was slightly skeptical because it was just maple syrup with spices. I was wondering if I was going to miss the flavor of the molasses in the syrup. When I tried a little bit of it plain, I wasn’t disappointed at all. The richness and depth of the maple made up for the fact that there wasn’t any molasses. It tasted even better than I had expected. I may have considered drinking the whole bottle at one point in time. I used some self control and the syrup made it to my pancakes. With all of the flavors of the pancake, the molasses butter, and the Gingerbread Maple together, it was probably one of the best breakfast experiences I have ever had.
Saying this stuff is good would be a complete understatement. I am completely addicted! This maple syrup was definitely worth the wait. I already can’t wait to try their other flavors of syrup!
As usual, this post isn’t sponsored. I am just on a mission to show how easy it is to find vegan products everywhere!
